Twenty Twelve’s gameplay was loosely inspired by the 2011 Global Game Jam entry: Dropping Dodos. The theme was partially motivated by TIGSource’s “2012: The End is Upon Us” competition. The story also introduces the first of several forthcoming Power City super heroes: Ms Tikal. As Twenty Twelve’s development progressed, it spiritual lineage became clearer. Twenty Twelve is a combination of discovery-oriented puzzle platform games (like Limbo and Braid), and indirect control puzzle games (like Lemmings and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee).
